The Origin and Occult Meaning of Christmas
By Pao Chang, author of EsotericKnowledge.me
Christmas is one of the most popular holidays in the world. It is estimated that nearly two billion people around the world are planning to get together with families and friends to celebrate this holiday full of evergreen trees, colorful lights, delicious foods, and gifts. Sadly, most people have not taken the time to investigate the origin and occult meaning of Christmas and therefore have little or no clue that Christmas has a strong connection to the occult world.
When you investigate the origin of Christmas and its connection to the occult world deeply enough, you will realize that Christmas is full of disturbing and dark ideology. Behind all those colorful lights, gifts, and evergreen trees is a sinister plan to brainwash people to worship the first false god in the universe. The evidence of this can be found in the name Santa. Before we decipher the name Santa, let us study the origin of Christmas, the star (Christmas star), and the evergreen tree (Christmas tree), so we can connect them to the character Santa.
The Origin of Christmas
Before we explore the origin of Christmas, let us study the etymology of Christmas. The word Christmas comes from the Old English word Cristes mæsse and is made up of the words Christ and mass. Hence, the word Christmas (Christ-mass). The word Christ is derived from the Greek word khristos, meaning "the anointed." As for the word mass, it is derived from the Middle English words messe and masse, and the Old English word mæsse, meaning "eucharistic service." The word thereof also comes from the Vulgar Latin word messa and the Late Latin word missa, meaning "eucharistic service"; however, they literally mean "dismissal."
According to TheFreeDictionary.com, the word Mass means, "public celebration of the Eucharist in the Roman Catholic Church and some Protestant churches" (bold emphasis added). Based on the definitions so far in this article, one of the meanings of Christmas is "a public celebration of the Eucharist in the Roman Catholic Church and some Protestant churches for the anointed." The word Eucharist etymologically means "sacrament of the Lord's Supper, the Communion" or "thanksgiving, gratitude." Based on the boldface words and definitions in this section, Christmas is a public celebration to communion with Christ, the anointed. However, is Christmas really about celebrating Christ? To find an answer to that question, we need to explore the origin of Christmas.
According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, "Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the Church" and "The first evidence of the feast is from Egypt." What most people do not know about Christmas is that it is the modern day version of an ancient Roman holiday called Saturnalia. This Roman holiday was dedicated to the Roman god Saturn. Hence, the name Saturnalia. Here is what Britannica.com published about Saturnalia and Christmas:
The influence of the Saturnalia upon the celebrations of Christmas and the New Year has been direct. The fact that Christmas was celebrated on the birthday of the unconquered sun (dies solis invicti nati) gave the season a solar background, connected with the kalends of January (January 1, the Roman New Year) when houses were decorated with greenery and lights, and presents were given to children and the poor. Concerning the gift candles, the Romans had a story that an old prophecy bade the earliest inhabitants of Latium send heads to Hades and phota to Saturn. The ancient Latins interpreted this to mean human sacrifices, but, according to legend, Hercules advised using lights (phos means "light" or "man" according to accent) and not human heads. [Bold emphasis added]
The Occult Meaning of the Evergreen Tree and the Star
The origin of Christmas goes back further than the time of the Roman Empire and ancient Egypt. To find some evidence of this, we need to study the evergreen tree (Christmas tree) and the star (Christmas star). There are many types of evergreen tree. One of them is the pine tree. Here is an excerpt from my book Word Magic: Born Again that reveals some of the occult meanings of the pine tree:
Have you ever wondered why pine trees are used as Christmas trees during Christmas? One of the hidden reasons is that they symbolize the spine, which is the bone structure that connects to the skull. The structure inside the skull is the holy temple that houses the pineal/pine-al gland. An important part of the pine tree is the pine cone. Esoterically, the pine cone represents the pineal gland. Another hidden reason that pine trees (evergreen trees) are used as Christmas trees is that they represent "Nimrod redivivus—the slain god come to life again."
The Christmas-tree, as has been stated, was generally at Rome a different tree, even the fir; but the very same idea as was implied in the palm-tree was implied in the Christmas-fir; for that covertly symbolised the new-born god as Baal-berith,* "Lord of the Covenant," and thus shadowed forth the perpetuity and everlasting nature of his power, now that after having fallen before his enemies, he had risen triumphant over them all. Therefore, the 25th of December, the day that was observed at Rome as the day when the victorious god reappeared on earth, was held at the Natalis Solis Invicti, "The birth-day of the unconquered Sun."† Now the Yule Log is the dead stock of Nimrod, deified as the sun-god, but cut down by his enemies; the Christmas-tree is Nimrod redivivus—the slain god come to life again.[22]
Let us turn our attention to the star (Christmas star). The star that many people like to put on top of the Christmas tree can be traced back to Semiramis, the mother and wife of Nimrod. Semiramis is known by many names, such as Ishtar, Ashtoreth, Ashtaroth, Inanna, and Isis. She is also known as the Queen of Babylon and one of her symbols is a star. According to BibleStudyTools.com, the name Ashtoreth means "a star." In the Old Testament (1 Kings 11:5), Ashtoreth (Semiramis) is known as "the goddess of the Sidonians." In other words, Ashtoreth/Semiramis is a false deity. According to certain ancient stories, Satan (the first false god in the universe) helped Semiramis to deceive her people into accepting her as a goddess by creating a mystery religion.
The Occult Meaning of Santa
A name that we need to examine in the previous paragraph is Satan. The name Satan can be found in the name Santa. When we shuffle the letters of the name Santa in a particular order, it transforms into the name Satan. In the modern Christmas story, Santa/Satan is depicted as a jolly old man in a red suit who has magic powers. The Devil comes in many forms. The word devil can be found in the name Saint Nick, one of the names associated with Santa. Etymologically, Nick means "the devil."
By now you should realize that Christmas is full of occult and satanic symbolism. One of the most important symbols of Christmas is the evergreen tree (Christmas tree). In the occult world, this tree represents Nimrod. People that put up evergreen trees in their homes and decorate them with ornaments should read the Old Testament of the Holy Bible, specifically Chapter 10 of the Book of Jeremiah. In this chapter, the LORD warned people about the idolatrous usage of what we now refer to as the Christmas tree.
2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. (Jeremiah 10:2–5, KJV) [Bold emphasis added]
Some of you may be wondering if you should stop celebrating Christmas and not give and receive gifts in December. There is nothing wrong with giving and receiving gifts, even in December, as long as the gifts are not associated with Santa/Satan and idols. As for celebrating Christmas, I believe it is wise not to celebrate it. This does not mean that you should not spend time with your family and friends on December 25. There is nothing wrong with spending time with the people you love on December 25. However, it is wise not to celebrate that day with idols, such as Christmas trees and Santa/Satan.
Dictionary.com defines celebrate using these words: "to observe (a day) or commemorate (an event) with ceremonies or festivities" or "to perform with appropriate rites and ceremonies; solemnize" (bold emphasis added). According to WebstersDictionary1828.com, the word celebrate means "To praise; to extol; to commend; to give to; to make famous; as, to celebrate the name of the Most High" or "To distinguish by solemn rites; to keep holy" (bold emphasis added). Christmas is not a holy day because it is a pagan holiday for celebrating Santa/Satan, false gods, and idols. It has nothing to do with the birth of Jesus Christ. Therefore, people (especially believers of Jesus Christ) should stop celebrating Christmas.
After Emperor Constantine signed the Edict of Milan, he acted to ensure that his version of Christianity would flourish. One of those actions involved directing funds to support the Roman Church. As Christianity flourished, many Pagans and non-Christians converted to Christianity. However, many of those converts did not want to give up their pagan festivals and traditions, so the leaders of the Roman Church decided to add some of the pagan festivals and traditions to their religious system. In other words, to prevent division in the Roman Church and Empire, they Christianized some of the pagan festivals and traditions by replacing the pagan gods of those festivals and traditions with Christ. One of those festivals was Saturnalia. Today, Saturnalia is known as Christmas. (Word Magic: Born Again, pg. 129)
